The signs of spring are everywhere on the 230-acre estate and 60-acre vineyard known as Berrywine Plantations / Linganore Winecellars. Linganore Winecellars is proud to introduce our traditional wine of spring, May Wine. This young, white wine is flavored with the herb, Sweet Woodruff from the Black Forest region of Germany. With its delicate aromas and spicy background, this slightly sweet wine is perfect for pairing with strawberries or Black Forest cake. Visitors can sample a wide variety of grape, fruit and specialty wines that have been selected for the perfect food pairing of Black Forest cake and strawberries, freshly dipped in a delectable, dark chocolate. We invite you to visit our tasting room in our newly restored 19th century peg barn, and experience this traditional wine for yourself. But like Spring, the winery has produced a limited amount of May wine which will be available for a short time. “The ’09 vintage is a spectacular one,” says Vintner Anthony Aellen. “Our May Wine is showing refreshing citrus notes with a clean, crisp finish. Serve it to your guests along with fresh fruit while enjoying the evening on your deck or patio. It’s a light and refreshing treat.” Come out and enjoy an informative winery tour and taste the wide selection of award winning wines. Stroll the grounds, or just relax and soak in the beauty of spring on our patio with a glass of your favorite Linganore wine.
